About the Role

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for supervision and coordination of activities of production workers for assigned work shifts. The role, plans, coordinates, and schedules tasks and operations.

Key Activities

  • Provides “hands-on” leadership, organizes, and directs the manufacturing and maintenance operations which ensures the most effective return on assets.

  • Drives culture of accountability and safety through clearly stated goals and objectives. Manages to stated company performance metrics such as, but not limited to Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE), throughput by means of MSF, and waste analysis.[KP2]

  • Works in accordance with the labor agreement while simultaneously upholding management’s rights.

  • Works with HR and appropriate department managers on union grievances, employee discipline [KP3] and overall response to issues and conditions that may affect the workforce.

  • Tracks, reports, and addresses employee attendance and tardiness in partnership with the HR department.

  • Manages, directs, and coordinates all activities related to a production shift to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining safety and quality.

  • Performs the completion of tasks and projects with suitable organizational skills, priority, and effectiveness.

Preferred Skills

  • Job shop experience, a plus.

  • Ability to work extended hours or different shifts, as required or through the evening in off hours.

Education and Experience

  • HS Diploma or GED Equivalent required; completion of two years college or more, a plus.

  • 2-3 years in manufacturing environment in a supervisory capacity.

  • Ability to read and use tape measure referencing both millimeters and inches.

  • Corrugated manufacturing a MUST
