About the Role
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and executing strategic action plans to grow the customer base and revenue.
Key Activities
Identify and target potential clients within the retail LTL industry, leveraging market intelligence and personal networks.
Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline to ensure consistent revenue growth.
Use a consultative sales approach to understand customer needs and deliver tailored solutions.
Develop and implement strategic action plans to achieve sales targets and expand market share.
Collaborate with internal teams to align sales strategies with organizational goals and operational capabilities.
Continuously monitor industry trends and competitor activity to adapt strategies as needed.
Establish and nurture long-term relationships with new and existing clients.
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing insights and recommendations to optimize their logistics operations.
Address client concerns and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Track and report on sales performance metrics, including pipeline growth, revenue generation, and customer acquisition.
Present regular updates and forecasts to leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment.
Meet or exceed assigned sales quotas consistently.
Work closely with marketing, operations, and other departments to support sales efforts and enhance customer experiences.
Contribute to the development of promotional materials and campaigns targeting the retail LTL market.
Preferred Skills
Proficiency with CRM software and other sales tools.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in logistics/business administration or a related field.
5+ years as a Business Development Manager with a hunter mentality with Transportation/Logistics/Supply Chain sales experience
Primarily targeting the retail LTL consolidation sector establishing new relationships and opportunities to generate revenue growth
