About the Role

The Fleet Services Director is responsible for overseeing the management of our driver pool and ensuring the smooth, safe, and efficient daily operation of our transportation operations.

Key Activities

  • Lead and manage the execution of an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic and transportation operation.

  • Ensure that our fleet is operating at maximum efficiency while providing outstanding service to our clients.

  • Lead and manage daily operations, communicate across the organization any staffing issues; and liaison with the driver recruitment team to ensure our talent pipeline remains active.

  • Responsible for the financial performance of the operational component of the organization. Manage and forecast labor needs, and ensure peak periods are being properly staffed.

  • Assist with the annual budget planning process.

  • Provide recommendations for continuously improving the fleet and driver experience to maximize client satisfaction.

  • Act as point of contact for clients; facilitate communication to fleet on client requests.

  • Provide collaborative leadership to the team, working in tandem with key stakeholders to ensure both employee and client satisfaction is achieved.

  • Develop processes and policies to support key business objectives.

  • Ensure driver training is maintained, and safety protocols are adhered to with consistency.

  • Utilize analytics and reports to quantify and manage performance; proactively address service gaps accordingly.

  • Manage and oversee dispatch teams in multiple sites.

  • Facilitate projects as needed.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong communication skills are required; those with bi-lingual (Spanish/English) will be preferred.

  • Prior experience managing operational/fleet financial performance and budgets.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 10+ years of progressive, direct related experience in logistics/transportation/fleet management is required.

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of fleet management and operations.

  • Strong knowledge of DOT compliance.

  • Prior experience managing multi-site teams.
