About the Role
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for administrative, analytical, and strategic tasks contributing to the department.
Key Activities
Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze purchasing and sales data to help identify trends and inform business decisions.
Prepare reports on product and item category market conditions as needed.
Comprehensive review of spend and profit by product category or vendor.
Cost Reduction: Identify opportunities to reduce costs through vendor consolidation, price negotiations, and process improvements.
Practice cost-saving initiatives with order price review and approval.
Strategic Vendor Management: Help negotiate, manage, and organize vendor contracts to ensure favorable terms and pricing.
Identify new sourcing opportunities. Assist in data entry and organization tasks in SAP on vendor information and pricing.
Sales Support: Provide sales team members with product information, pricing, and competitive analysis.
Assist in sample request management and execution.
Collaborate with marketing to develop product sell sheets and market information for distribution to sales and/or customers.
Intercompany coordination of new items and vendors as needed.
Preferred Skills
Food industry experience preferred.
Strong proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
SAP experience preferred.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or related field.
3+ years of experience in purchasing or sales.
