About the Role
The Sr Food Packaging Specialist is responsible for expertise in plastics and films to address food packaging customers' packaging needs and concerns.
Key Activities
Serve as the technical expert in food packaging, specializing in plastic and film solutions.
Act as the liaison between sales teams and customers, providing expert guidance on packaging solutions.
Train sales force and internal staff on food packaging-related matters, including products, processes, equipment, suppliers, and food processing environments.
Successfully transition primary packaging opportunities for customers:
Barrier shrink bags.
Thermoforming films (flexible and semi-rigid).
VFFS & HFFS films for a variety of applications.
Lidding films.
Rigid packaging (barrier & non-barrier trays, cups).
Stand-up pouches, pre-made bags/pouches in a variety of formats.
Miscellaneous primary packaging (papers, folding cartons, labels, EPS trays).
Develop and execute a territory development strategy in collaboration with field management.
Partner with Equipment Specialists to ensure consumable sales align with equipment sales.
Develop and maintain supplier relationships to support the local territory.
Oversee the Mid-East Coast region, traveling up to 50% to meet with clients and discuss their packaging needs.
Preferred Skills
Deep knowledge of packaging materials, processes, and equipment used in food packaging.
Ability to train and educate sales teams and internal stakeholders on packaging-related topics.
Education and Experience
15+ years of experience in food packaging, specifically within flexible packaging.
Proven track record as a specialist between sales teams and customers, driving successful packaging solutions.
