About the Role
The Logistics Manager oversees the transportation and distribution of perishable goods, ensuring they reach their destinations efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all relevant regulations.
Key Activities
Track shipments and monitor real-time data for on-time deliveries and coordination of products
Provide regular reports on transportation performance, including delivery times, costs, and any issues that arise
Address delays, damage, or losses that occur during transportation and find quick solutions that reduce the impact on operations
Work closely with sales, production, and customer service to make sure transportation aligns with customer orders and production schedules
Manage relationships with vendors to ensure service levels meet expectations
Ensure compliance with Food Safety (USDA and FDA) regulations and transportation-related regulations
Complete customs documents.
Align co-manufacturers and maritime providers, ensuring timely pickups for overseas shipments
Develop and track KPIs for goal attainment and continuous improvement
Preferred Skills
Strong organizational skills, ensuring all customers receive their products on-time
Ability to coordinate freight efficiently and within budget
Education and Experience
Minimum of 5 years in Transportation and Logistics
Working knowledge of global logistics
NetSuite ERP experience
Food and Beverage Industry experience
Experience in Fleet Management and DOT compliance
