About the Role
The QA Supervisor establish and maintain a Quality System that effectively results in company compliance with applicable requirements, including FSMA, HACCP, PCQI, Food Defense, Supplier Approval, third party audits, customer requirements, Organic Certification, Kosher Certification and any future food-related certifications as they arise.
Key Activities
Act as a main point of contact for 3rd party certifying agencies for Kosher, Organic, and Vegan certifications.
Maintain the Approved Supplier List and all associated documentation from Suppliers.
Work with QA Manager on compliance with SQF, SOPs, GMPs, FSMA, Food Defense, Organic, Vegan and Kosher certifications, third party audit and customer requirements.
Perform routine monitoring and verification activities to assure compliance with all Quality System policies, procedures, programs, and regulatory requirements.
Establish an internal Audit schedule and process to ensure compliance with SQF Code.
Work with QA and R&D teams to create, maintain, and organize finished product specifications, plant-trial requests, and other applicable documentation.
Liaison with the sanitation team to document and organize all SOPs, SSOPs, and GMPs
Partner with QA Manager to maintain records and ensure compliance for all GMP, sanitation, and food safety training.
Partner with QA Manager to establish, document, and maintain a Workplace Safety program that effectively results in company compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, including OSHA.
Experience updating and implementing QA systems, including Food Safety Plan, Food Defense Plan, Recall Plan, Shipping and Receiving protocols, SQF or BRC framework, Corrective Actions, etc., is highly desirable. Qualified candidates will have an associate degree or equivalent plus a basic understanding of food science, microbiology, food process engineering, or similar plus a minimum of 3 years of QA experience in the non-Dairy, Dairy, Cultured, and/or Pasteurized Beverage / Aseptic Filling industry. Preferred Skills
Have experience and understanding of Quality Systems in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and other computer systems.
Strong verbal and written skills essential.
Education and Experience
Qualified candidates will have an associate degree or equivalent plus a basic understanding of food science, microbiology, food process engineering, or similar plus a minimum of 3 years of QA experience in the non-Dairy, Dairy, Cultured, and/or Pasteurized Beverage / Aseptic Filling industry.
