About the Role
The Production Supervisor will be accountable for implementing the plant production plan, maintaining a safe work environment, developing a team-oriented workforce, and meeting customer quality/service expectations.
Key Activities
Manage all aspects of the value-added production room, including R&D of new value-added products.
Maintain proper levels of all raw materials, ingredients, packaging and finished goods.
Ensure employees follow the proper sanitation standards in an allergen-sensitive area.
Check finished goods inventory levels each week.
Monitor and review production progress against deadline targets to schedule & ensure on-time delivery.
Communicate any changes to scheduled delivery dates and times with the appropriate personnel/departments.
Ensure value-added room equipment and facilities are maintained and needed repairs are communicated to Maintenance as required to create a highly effective working environment.
Training all employees on the proper use of packaging machines.
Be aware of and promote best practice and performance standards; identify individual training needs.
Address staff discipline or grievance issues, maintaining appropriate records under company procedures.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of seafood processing, FDA, USDC, HACCP, and SQF standards preferred; HACCP and SQF certification a plus.
Planning, negotiating, and organizing; time management skills.
Education and Experience
Seafood manufacturing/processing background.
Research & development skills to include: ingredient knowledge, food preparation, and presentation.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
