About the Role
The Converting Supervisor is responsible for all day-to-day manufacturing operations including safety, quality, waste productivity, and occasional planning and/or shipping associated with the facility or facilities within the span of control.
Key Activities
Providing leadership on the operating floor and striving for compliance in safety, health, environment, and quality. Â
Ensure Company assets and physical plant are secure and well maintained. Â
Achieve desired results in Safety by demonstrating personal commitment and leading safety processes to sustain a safe work environment. Â
Implement and coordinate department safety education and processes in accordance with corporate best practices and policies. Â
Achieve desired results in quality by leading process reliability efforts to ensure the lowest cost and best quality with a high return on assets. Â
Minimize waste within the department by driving awareness, training, and accountability. Â
Participate in machine center goal setting process. Â
Drive maximum throughput within the department by reducing set-up times and increasing uptimes and machine speeds. Â
Support Culture and maintain a strong focus on Housekeeping within the department. Â
Identify equipment issues and coordinate necessary maintenance activities (including preventative) on the various production machines. Â
Responsible for accurate production documentation/data entry. Â
Problem-solve and address operational troubleshooting questions as they arise.
Preferred Skills
Process acumen is results-driven and possesses strong communication skills. Â
Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Â
Must have good communication skills and be able to communicate with others in a professional, concise manner. Â
Be fluent in calculating the various costs of decisions as well as inventory costs.Â
Education and Experience
Minimum of 3-5 years of operations and supervisor experience within a Packaging company. Â
High school diploma or GED. Â
