About the Role
The Converting Supervisor will be responsible for supervising day-to-day converting operations to ensure production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. This role oversees machine operators and helpers, ensures adherence to SOPs, minimizes downtime and waste, and supports continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Activities
Supervise and coordinate daily converting operations (slitting, rewinding, laminating, coating, die-cutting, pouching, etc.).
Manage and lead machine operators, technicians, and production helpers.
Ensure production schedules are met with optimal manpower utilisation.
Monitor machine performance, productivity, and downtime; take corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with quality standards, SOPs, GMP, and safety policies.
Inspect in-process materials and finished goods for quality and specifications.
Troubleshoot basic machine, process, and material issues during production.
Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, and Planning teams.
Control material usage, reduce wastage, and improve yield.
Maintain accurate production reports, shift logs, and documentation.
Train and mentor operators on machine operation, safety, and quality.
Ensure housekeeping and 5S standards on the shop floor.
Preferred Skills
Prior experience in a supervisory or team-lead role is preferred.
Education and Experience
Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Printing, Packaging, or related field (preferred).
3–7 years of experience in converting operations within packaging or printing industry.
