About the Role
The Extrusion Supervisor oversees day-to-day activities on the extrusion floor, bridging the gap between operators and department leadership. This role ensures safety, quality, and production standards are met while coaching and supporting extrusion operators.
Key Activities
Lead by example and ensure compliance with all safety and GMP policies.
Observe and support team members to promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Monitor line performance and ensure adherence to production goals and product specifications.
Perform and oversee lockout/tagout and safety checks.
Supervise and coach extrusion operators.
Ensure clear communication between team members and management.
Provide ongoing training to ensure knowledge of safety, quality, and SOPs.
Address personnel issues in coordination with HR and the Department Manager.
Oversee machine start-ups, process checks, and changeovers.
Assist with root cause analysis for quality and equipment issues.
Support the development of standard work and best practices.
Monitor material usage, minimize waste, and report material issues.
Preferred Skills
Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
Able to coach and mentor a diverse team.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
3+ years of experience in extrusion or manufacturing.
Prior leadership or lead operator experience required.
