About the Role
The Direct Print Technician is responsible for assisting in the setup and running of the Printing Machines and the Print Department.
Key Activities
Set up machines to run at optimum speed.
Assist with the efficient running of the Department.
Train Packers as per the training plan.
Carry out print and product changeovers on printing machines.
Provide support to ensure machine efficiency targets are achieved (troubleshooting).
Organize cover for breaks to optimum effect.
Cover breaks to maximize machine hours.
Coordinate the setup and approval of new prints.
Approve new prints when required.
Operate machines as and when required.
Carry out minor maintenance tasks.
Minimize waste & scrap and record relevant data.
Provide assistance and/or technical support to maintenance.
Check print tooling and return to storage after production.
Prepare and check the changeover trolleys
Carry out First Off Verifications on Print.
Update information on the computer.
Establish optimum production speed for new products.
Coordinate the setup and print approval of new prints.
Preferred Skills
Flexibility in relation to shifts.
Technical proficiency.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma.
Experience with printing plastics, strong technical/mechanical ability, self-motivated, great team worker, positive attitude.
Must be flexible to help wherever needed.
Two-year technical degree preferred.
