


About the Role
The Controls Engineer will be responsible for the design, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Company's control systems, including the Distributive Control System (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), soft starters, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
Key Activities
Maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade DCS, PLCs, VFDs, and other plant automation systems.
Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to resolve control-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
Develop and refine control sequences, interlocks, and system logic.
Coordinate with and oversee outside contractors and vendors for automation projects and support.
Participate in plant-wide initiatives to improve process performance and automation reliability.
Support plant operations remotely as needed (equipment and secure access provided).
Participate in training and development opportunities aligned with plant needs and personal areas of interest.
Contribute to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement efforts.
Preferred Skills
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Prior experience with ethanol, biofuels, or process manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with major control platforms (e.g., DeltaV, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.).
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Controls, Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering—or equivalent hands-on experience.
3–5+ years experience in automation, process control, PLC/HMI/DCS programming, loop tuning, VFDs, instrumentation, industrial networking protocols (Ethernet IP, Profibus, DeviceNet, etc.)
