About the Role
The purchasing clerk will be involved in procuring materials and supplies, creating purchase orders, tracking orders, and ensuring timely delivery, while also managing inventory and resolving any issues related to raw materials.
Key Activities
Compile information and records to draw up purchase orders for materials and services.
Identify and contact suppliers to obtain quotes and negotiate prices.
Create and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues.
Maintain records of purchases, vendors, and contracts.
Prepare reports and correspondence related to purchasing activities.
Respond to inquiries from customers and suppliers regarding order status, changes, or cancellations.
Assist with other tasks assigned by the purchasing manager.
Research and evaluate potential suppliers.
Resolve purchasing disputes by contacting suppliers and buyers.
Coordinate with other departments, such as accounting and warehouse personnel.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with Excell, Word, SharePoint, Outlook.
Organizational skills.
Time management skills.
Ability to work independently.
Education and Experience
Attention to detail.
Purchasing and/or planning experience in the food industry.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Logistical qualifications.
Precise verbal and written communication abilities.
