


About the Role
This Engineering Manager is responsible for leading an engineering team to design, develop, and deliver high-quality products, managing projects, resources, digital transformation, automation vision and team members while ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety standards are met.
Key Activities
Develop a high performing team through empowerment and accountability.
Ensure the performance of all direct reports is evaluated to maximize their performance and development throughout the year and during the annual performance review.
Develop staff by setting SMART goals, driving a culture of accountability.
Provide mentorship and coaching to the Maintenance and Engineering departments to ensure work is performed in accordance with documented specifications and SOP’s.
Identify and implement new technologies and automation supporting digital transformation and SCADA integration
Maintain, develop, and optimize key processes to reduce COGS, improve quality, and increase machine utilization and efficiency, ensuring all aspects of equipment operations are safe and compliant
Function as a technical resource
Lead the design, procurement, validation, and installation of new and upgraded manufacturing process equipment
Lead the design and development of new products
Manage the Design Control Program for new, unique, or customized medical devices and/or the processes for their realization
Establish, review and approve engineering drawings; product, process or equipment specifications and Change Orders (CO’s)
Manage the PPAP process to qualify new components, suppliers
Manage mold assets, coordinate mold repairs & new mold creation
Develop strong relations with key vendors and suppliers
Ensure that all forms of communication are timely, professional.
Oversee the writing of all verification and validation protocols and reports.
Monitor the control of all Engineering documentation to ensure compliance.
Administer the Risk Management Program.
Comply with the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, Company policies, procedures and ISO standard.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills
Outstanding oral and written communication skills
Able to effectively investigate, inquire and liaise with others when issues arise.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
Professional Engineer designation preferred
5 years of previous management experience
10 years of experience in a manufacturing plant. Assembly and packaging experience preferred.
