


About the Role
The Plant Manager will be responsible for ensuring production efficiency, product quality, food safety compliance, cost control, and workforce management. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of food processing, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a high-compliance environment.
Key Activities
Oversee daily plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality assurance, and inventory management.
Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP, ISO, FSSAI, FDA, or relevant local/international standards).
Implement strategies to optimise productivity, reduce waste, and control operational costs.
Maintain high product quality standards through process monitoring and strict adherence to SOPs.
Lead, train, and mentor department managers and plant staff to ensure optimal performance.
Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance programs are in place to minimise downtime.
Develop and manage plant budgets, monitor expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Promote and enforce workplace safety protocols to create a safe working environment.
Drive process improvements using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other best practices.
Preferred Skills
In-depth understanding of food processing machinery and production workflows.
Knowledge of hygiene and sanitation best practices in food production.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
Minimum 8–12 years in food manufacturing, with at least 3–5 years in a plant management or senior operations role.
