


About the Role
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the daily activities of the Quality Assurance Department. This position is hands-on and requires a high level of attention to detail. The Quality Assurance Manager will supervise and coordinate the Quality Assurance Technicians, review quality and food safety paperwork, and ensure that the quality assurance procedures are followed throughout the operational activities.
Key Activities
Manage all Quality Assurance activities for all phases of production. Facilitate a positive and productive work atmosphere.
Manage Quality Assurance Technicians, including supervision, evaluation, and ensuring positive and compliant performance of team members. May need to fill in with Quality Assurance activities when needed
Responsible for all product quality analysis, conducting periodic facility inspections, and participating in the resolution of quality-related issues
Manage and complete all customer complaints.
Develop, implement, audit, and maintain the HACCP/FSMA plans, pre-requisite programs, SOPs, GMPs, SSOPS, and QA procedures regarding quality, sanitation, and pest control activities
Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, and other regulatory agencies.
Assure the proper labeling of all products, including new products, within the guidelines of the company, USDA, and FDA
Assist R&D with new product development and launching activities (specification creation & labeling).
Assist in maintaining and updating product specifications.
Manage and lead the efforts to maintain BRC Certification.
Preferred Skills
HACCP implementation and verification.
previous experience with BRC or SQF audits.
Education and Experience
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with 5 years of experience in a quality assurance role in the food industry.
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Microbiology, Biology, or Food/ Meat Science.
