About the Role

The Street Sweeper Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of electric-powered street sweepers and associated equipment.

Key Activities

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on electric street sweepers according to manufacturer specifications.

  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems including batteries, motors, controllers, wiring, and onboard charging systems.

  • Inspect and service mechanical and hydraulic systems including brooms, water pumps, and debris hoppers.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve software and firmware issues in vehicle control systems.

  • Maintain accurate service records and update maintenance logs in the fleet management system.

  • Conduct road tests and performance checks to ensure safety and compliance.

  • Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers for parts procurement and technical support.

  • Adhere to all safety procedures and environmental regulations.

  • Respond to field service calls and assist with on-site repairs as necessary.

  • Keep current with new technologies and ongoing training related to EV systems and diagnostics.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience servicing and maintaining electric forklifts, 310S/310T, Electric Vehicles, or EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician).

  • Experience with street sweepers or municipal fleet equipment an asset.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • 3+ years of experience in automotive repair, Material Handling, or heavy equipment maintenance, including electric vehicles.

  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and heavy-duty mechanical repair.

  • Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain a valid passport and travel as needed; ability to obtain a CDL may be required.
