About the Role

The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for monitoring critical control points, performing product and environmental testing, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting the continuous improvement of quality systems.

Key Activities

  • Monitor and document Critical Control Points (CCPs) in accordance with HACCP and company protocols.

  • Perform testing of bulk bins for oxygen (O?) content to ensure product quality and packaging integrity.

  • Conduct in-process and finished product inspections, including sensory, temperature, and visual checks.

  • Perform routine equipment and environmental sanitation checks to ensure compliance with GMPs.

  • Assist in product sampling and laboratory testing (e.g., moisture, pH, microbial testing) as required.

  • Document findings clearly and accurately; report any deviations from established standards.

  • Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).

  • Assist with internal audits, third-party inspections, and regulatory agency visits (e.g., USDA).

  • Maintain the cleanliness and calibration of QA tools and equipment.

  • Collaborate with production and sanitation teams to ensure ongoing food safety compliance.

  • Support training initiatives for food safety, quality procedures, and documentation practices.

Preferred Skills

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, or related discipline.

  • Prior experience in a USDA-regulated facility or ready-to-eat meat processing environment.

  • Familiarity with SQF, BRC, or similar GFSI food safety standards.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, or related field.

  • Understanding of HACCP, GMPs, and food safety principles.
