About the Role
The Vector Database Engineer will be responsible for designing data models, optimizing queries and indexing strategies, building robust data pipelines, collaborating with data science and ML teams, and ensuring data security and system scalability.
Key Activities
Create and deploy vector databases to efficiently store and manage high-dimensional vector data.
Tune database queries, implement indexing strategies, and resolve performance bottlenecks to ensure fast and accurate data retrieval.
Architect and build scalable data pipelines to process, vectorize, and index data for various applications.
Work with software developers to integrate vector databases and knowledge graphs into application solutions.
Implement and maintain robust data security measures and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
Partner with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and other cross-functional teams to support data-intensive applications.
Preferred Skills
Hands-on experience with large-scale information retrieval systems.
Knowledge of vector quantization, ANN (Approximate Nearest Neighbor) algorithms, and clustering.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
Strong experience with vector databases and similarity search frameworks (e.g., FAISS, Milvus, Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant).
Proficiency in Python, Go, or Java for backend/database integration.
