About the Role

The Production Scheduler will be responsible for scheduling production orders for the corrugator and converting equipment, and managing containerboard roll stock.

Key Activities

  • Meet customer demands and needs by working with the Sales Service team, while optimizing the flow of the plant to minimize waste and maximize the productivity of the operations.

  • Roll stock management, which includes forecasting and ordering linerboard and medium paper from our containerboard suppliers, monitoring and controlling roll stock inventory, warehousing and consuming paper, in addition to analyzing usage and utilization trends to ensure we have the right product mix available to meet the needs of our customers efficiently.

  • Facilitate the daily production and scheduling meetings, and communicate priorities to the production team.

  • Works on cost savings opportunities related to board grade optimization, machine utilization, and identifying when to use narrow rolls

  • Check the previous day production reporting, prepare for morning and afternoon production meetings

  • Update production schedule to reflect date changes

  • Review & update items on hold with customer sales, get status & estimated adjusted delivery date

  • Work with Production Manager and Maintenance to schedule the appropriate times for men and machinery for preventative maintenance, along with clean-up

  • Keep current with shift manning from the Production manager to cover all machine centers where orders are promised

Preferred Skills

  • Corrugated or packaging is a HUGE plus

  • Exchanges non-routine information using tact and persuasion as appropriate, requiring good oral and written communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • 1 – 3 years of relevant experience, especially with customer service and production, and demand planning.

  • Manufacturing experience required.
