About the Role
The Plant Manager will be responsible for the execution of all manufacturing operations, including Product, Planning, Quality Assurance, Sanitation, Maintenance, Purchasing, Safety, Shipping, Receiving, and Materials Controls, all in conformance with policies and all applicable regulatory and legal requirements.
Key Activities
Plan and direct plant operations while continually working toward improved efficiencies and quality at a reduced cost.
Correlate performance to budgeted dollars and understand the variances and the reasons for them.
Determines priorities; processes work efficiently; conveys clear expectations for assignments; establishes clear agendas and desired outcomes; prepares for and conducts successful meetings; and follows up promptly after meetings.
Structuring of the product development strategy/process, improvement of product and processes in collaboration with R&D, Sales, and Corporate.
Responsible for implementing and following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Ensures compliance with all regulatory rules and regulations relating to food plant sanitation and the environment.
Responsible for adhering to all quality system requirements.
Preferred Skills
Ability to combine information from multiple disciplines to identify problems and recommend appropriate solutions.
Ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, and initiate action.
Education and Experience
Degree in manufacturing or equivalent
5 – 10 years of Plant Management experience with demonstrated increasing responsibility.
Dairy plant and/or canned food experience preferred.
