About the Role
R&D Food Technologist will be responsible for product formulation, product specification creation, prototype creation, and formula mediation (initiating New Product Development protocol).
Key Activities
Manage multiple ongoing projects.
Developing batch sheets for new products.
Develop nutritional panels for new product labels.
Routinely updating batch sheets for each production week as needed.
Maintaining ongoing new product label approvals for the state.
Conduct necessary analytical or qualitative testing/study to develop new product specifications.
Maintain a New Product Development checklist for every new product on file.
Maintain and stay current with vendor documentation (ingredients and packaging)
Preparation for new product trials and co-packed business.
Monitor trial ingredients for customers and product storage controls.
Work closely with the Sales Dept. and customers on the development and commercialisation of products
Assist QA/QC in identifying lab testing equipment and calibrating for new products.
Sensory Evaluation of products during and at the end of Shelf-Life.
Assist QA/QC in identifying microbiological testing as appropriate for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products.
Annual review of finished product specifications.
Sensory Evaluation of products during and atthe end of Shelf-Life.
Preferred Skills
Self-starter and able to effectively work without close supervision.
Familiar with PMO and FDA (non-dairy) regulations.
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or other related field (preferred).
Preferred 2-3 years’ Experience in R&D field.
Knowledgeable of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP’s).
