About the Role
The Plant Manager will be responsible for driving operational performance, developing cohesive high-performing teams, and achieving safety, quality, cost, delivery, and engagement goals in alignment with company objectives.
Key Activities
Oversee all plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality control, inventory management, logistics, and safety.
Plan, organise, and manage manufacturing activities to meet production goals, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP, FSSAI, ISO, etc.) and company quality policies.
Implement and maintain continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, minimise waste, and optimise production costs.
Lead, mentor, and develop plant staff to achieve individual and organisational performance goals.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity, cost, and quality.
Coordinate with procurement, R&D, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth workflow and resource availability.
Ensure proper maintenance of plant equipment and facilities to prevent downtime.
Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
Prepare and manage the plant’s budget, forecasts, and operational reports.
Preferred Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Engineering, Industrial Management, or related field.
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in plant operations or production management within the food manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of food safety and quality management systems.
Education and Experience
Experience implementing lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities effectively.
