About the Role

The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organisation’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

Key Activities

  • The list is a comprehensive list meant to represent the most common or important duties of the position. Other duties may be required and/or assigned.

  • Performs general cost accounting, AP/AR tasks, and other related duties.

  • Interactively collaborates with customers and members of the organisation on AR disputes.

  • Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit/loss statements.

  • Maintains the general ledger.

  • Responsible for the application of customer payments and the recording of discounts.

  • Reconciles bank accounts every week, verifying deposits and addressing inquiries from banking institutions.

  • Reconciles cash disbursement, payroll, and customer accounts, and other miscellaneous financial accounts, and manages accounts receivable collections.

  • Verifies and or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.

  • Assists the Senior Accountant as needed, gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.

  • Completes manufacturing variance analysis.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products.

  • Experience with analyzing manufacturing variance allowances.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance OR associate degree with GL (general ledger) or costing experience.

  • Three years of related experience in an accounting discipline for a manufacturing company is preferred.

  • Experience with IQMS and/or Crystal Reports is a plus.
