About the Role
The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organisation’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
Key Activities
The list is a comprehensive list meant to represent the most common or important duties of the position. Other duties may be required and/or assigned.
Performs general cost accounting, AP/AR tasks, and other related duties.
Interactively collaborates with customers and members of the organisation on AR disputes.
Prepare monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit/loss statements.
Maintains the general ledger.
Responsible for the application of customer payments and the recording of discounts.
Reconciles bank accounts every week, verifying deposits and addressing inquiries from banking institutions.
Reconciles cash disbursement, payroll, and customer accounts, and other miscellaneous financial accounts, and manages accounts receivable collections.
Verifies and or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
Assists the Senior Accountant as needed, gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
Completes manufacturing variance analysis.
Preferred Skills
Proficient in all Microsoft Office products.
Experience with analyzing manufacturing variance allowances.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance OR associate degree with GL (general ledger) or costing experience.
Three years of related experience in an accounting discipline for a manufacturing company is preferred.
Experience with IQMS and/or Crystal Reports is a plus.
