About the Role
The Die Cutting Machine Operator is responsible for all aspects of the flat-bed die cutting machines, including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to optimise production. This position plays a key role in maintaining production efficiency, minimising downtime, and ensuring consistent product quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Activities
Set up and operate the machine according to job specifications and production schedule.
Review job tickets to confirm order details, tooling, print, and material requirements.
Install dies and other tooling components as required.
Make necessary machine adjustments to ensure quality and minimise waste.
Monitor product quality throughout production, checking for proper cut, score, registration, and print alignment.
Direct and assist the machine crew to maintain a steady workflow.
Perform quality checks, record production data, and complete job paperwork accurately.
Follow standard operating procedures for startup, changeovers, and shutdown.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and communicate maintenance needs promptly.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work area.
Adhere to all company safety and quality policies.
Cross-trained to operate the Kolbus Rotary.
Report to the workstation on time and prepared to work.
Assist with other production or warehouse duties as assigned.
Preferred Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of die-cutting principles.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating die-cutting machines in the corrugated industry.
