About the Role

The Electric Street Sweeper Technician will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing electric-powered street sweepers and related equipment.

Key Activities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections on electric street sweepers in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.

  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including battery systems, electric motors, controllers, wiring harnesses, and onboard charging systems.

  • Inspect, service, and repair mechanical and hydraulic systems, including brooms, actuators, water pumps, debris hoppers, and associated components.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve software, firmware, and control system issues using manufacturer diagnostic tools.

  • Conduct road tests and operational checks to verify proper performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed service records, work orders, and maintenance logs within the fleet management system.

  • Operate and maintain company service vehicles in a safe, professional, and responsible manner.

  • Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers to procure parts, provide warranty support, and offer technical assistance.

  • Respond to field service calls and perform on-site diagnostics and repairs when required.

  • Stay current with diagnostic methods and required training programs.

Preferred Skills

  • Material handling technician certification.

  • Technical diploma or associate degree in automotive, electrical, or electromechanical technology.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in vehicle, forklift, heavy equipment, or fleet maintenance, including exposure to electric or hybrid systems.

  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair electric drivetrains, battery systems, and electrical components.

  • Strong working knowledge of hydraulic systems and mechanical repairs.

  • Valid G-class driver’s license with a clean driving abstract.
