About the Role
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all shipping operations to ensure the accurate, timely, and cost-effective distribution of products. This role supervises shipping personnel, coordinates outbound shipments, maintains inventory accuracy, and ensures compliance with company, customer, and transportation regulations.
Key Activities
Oversee daily shipping operations including scheduling, routing, and carrier coordination.
Ensure timely and accurate shipments to major retailers, complying with customer-specific routing and labeling requirements.
Collaborate with warehouse and inventory teams to maintain accurate records and inventory levels.
Develop and implement efficient shipping and logistics strategies to improve productivity and reduce costs.
Monitor carrier performance and resolve issues with delays, damage, or compliance.
Maintain shipping documentation, records, and compliance with company and regulatory standard.
Preferred Skills
Experience with ERP or WMS systems.
Knowledge of EDI shipping processes.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Education and Experience
3+ years of experience in a shipping/logistics management role, preferably in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
Experience working with major retailer accounts, specifically in freight ROUTING systems and following custom labeling requirements (e.g., Walmart, Target, Costco, Kroger, Petsmart, Amazon, etc.).
Strong understanding of routing guides, freight logistics, and compliance procedures.
