About the Role
The Production Manager will be responsible for managing the facility during weekend shifts to ensure adherence to safety, quality, maintenance and security standards.
Key Activities
Manage and coordinate the activities of personnel in card manufacturing.
Manage the daily production schedules and coordinate work activities with the respective shift supervisors.
Coordinate activities with maintenance technicians to complete required machine maintenance and repair.
Monitoring productivity rates, standards and quality control.
Review and address issues related to the quality or functionality of the product as it is being produced and inspected.
Track and review waste from the production process to ensure efficient material use.
Identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.
Count raw material and work-in-progress for the month-end inventory if needed.
Enforcing safety, health, environment and quality policies.
Motivating, supporting and providing guidance to production staff.
Setting productivity goals for each team and consistently evaluating against goals.
Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
Perform these and other duties as assigned by the Manager or other appropriate management personnel.
Preferred Skills
Printing and Finishing industry experience preferred.
Lean manufacturing methodologies and practice experience preferred.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Demonstrated skill in the development of leaders, managing multiple teams across shifts in a manufacturing environment, and making process improvements.
