About the Role

The Production Manager will be responsible for managing the facility during weekend shifts to ensure adherence to safety, quality, maintenance and security standards.

Key Activities

  • Manage and coordinate the activities of personnel in card manufacturing.

  • Manage the daily production schedules and coordinate work activities with the respective shift supervisors.

  • Coordinate activities with maintenance technicians to complete required machine maintenance and repair.

  • Monitoring productivity rates, standards and quality control.

  • Review and address issues related to the quality or functionality of the product as it is being produced and inspected.

  • Track and review waste from the production process to ensure efficient material use.

  • Identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.

  • Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production.

  • Count raw material and work-in-progress for the month-end inventory if needed.

  • Enforcing safety, health, environment and quality policies.

  • Motivating, supporting and providing guidance to production staff.

  • Setting productivity goals for each team and consistently evaluating against goals.

  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

  • Perform these and other duties as assigned by the Manager or other appropriate management personnel.

Preferred Skills

  • Printing and Finishing industry experience preferred.

  • Lean manufacturing methodologies and practice experience preferred.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

  • Demonstrated skill in the development of leaders, managing multiple teams across shifts in a manufacturing environment, and making process improvements.
