About the Role

The Quality Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day Food Safety and Quality activities in a dual jurisdiction RTE facility. This includes ensuring that the HACCP, GMP, and sanitation programs are maintained and functioning as intended.

Key Activities

  • Oversee and maintain the plant’s HACCP and Food Safety Plans, including validation and verification activities

  • Drive the plant’s Food Safety Culture improvement efforts

  • Ensure compliance with USDA and FDA regulations, including RTE-specific requirements

  • Manage the Sanitary Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s), including Pre-Op and Operational monitoring activities

  • Serve as the on-site contact for In-Plant Regulatory personnel, 3rd Party, and Customer Audits

  • Investigate non-conformances, deviations, and customer complaints

  • Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor or company leadership

  • Manage the Pre-Requisite Programs (Pest Control, GMPs, SSOPs, Allergen Controls, Environmental Monitoring, etc.).

  • Maintain accurate food safety and quality monitoring records, including documentation of non-conformances

  • Ensure traceability of raw materials, WIP, and finished products is maintained through routine mock recall exercises

  • Maintain current documentation of the plant’s performance against KPI’s

  • Wear appropriate PPE (Hard hat, Hair Net, Ear Plugs, Safety Glasses, and Safety Toed Footwear) at all times

  • Ensure that Quality personnel are following the LOTO practices during pre-op inspections

  • Train and coach all employees in the facility on GMPs, Food Safety, Sanitation, and Quality procedures

  • Supervise QA Technicians

  • Identify opportunities to improve food safety and quality performance

  • Support new product launches, process changes, and equipment validations


Preferred Skills

  • Working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SSOP’s and RTE requirements.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Meat Science, Microbiology, or other related field.

  • 2 years of Quality Assurance or Food Safety experience in a food manufacturing environment.
