About the Role
The Shipping and Receiving Associate will be responsible for receiving and shipping activities, as well as EDI tasks, to ensure all Customer delivery requirements are met daily.
Key Activities
Receive carrier trailers at dock doors in accordance with procedure and enter them into the receiving system daily.
Unload product from receiving trailer, load dunnage as applicable, apply appropriate FIFO label to product as required, store product in appropriate warehouse or pick location, staging by date/FIFO protocol.
Inform Production Control of any receiving variances in a timely fashion.
Receive MRO and other business related delivers, informing the receiver of arrival in a timely fashion.
Pick and stage assembly carts from the receiving warehouse, ensuring material is picked according to FIFO and properly scanned out of the system.
Ensure roller racks are adequately stocked in the sub-assembly area daily according to FIFO and properly scanned out of the system.
Decanting mixed part shipments and storing them in the warehouse according to procedures.
Transmit ASNs using customer portals and complete all required shipping paperwork.
Ensure Bill of Lading (BOL) matches ASN information.
Prepare Core shipping documents, including the preparation of the CTPAT tag.
Create load sheets for the shipping function to follow.
Create commercial invoices for all outbound shipments.
Support the New Model related to shipping needs.
Prepare documents and products for intercompany shipments.
Safety transport racks from the warehouse or hold area to the staging lane, ensuring the load is sequenced according to the pick sheet or customer requirements.
Ensure all outbound packed finished good racks are labelled according to product specific procedure.
Using the handheld scanning tool, scan in each rack and apply the quick receive status in the system.
Prepare the load for shipment, including any product-specific banding, relabeling, etc.
Load and unload trailers, creating ASN documentation as required.
De-van empty racks from shipping trailers as required.
Ensure returnable containers are properly controlled and cycled as required.
Support material movement to and from the MRO cage as required.
Support service part packing/scanning.
Participate in Inventory cycle counting / FIFO control activities to support traceability initiatives
Report any non-conformances to the Team leader, Supervisor or designate.
Complete the forklift inspection sheet at the start of each shift and save the sheet in the tracking binder.
Report any equipment/forklift truck abnormalities or incidents/accidents to the Team leader, Supervisor or designate immediately.
Participate in 5S activities for the assigned work area daily.
Preferred Skills
Able to maintain and achieve delivery targets and tack times.
Knowledge of part numbers and descriptions is an asset.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma.
Previous experience driving a forklift and operating pump trucks and battery-powered walkies.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office tools.
Experience using AS400/Mapics or similar software.
