About the Role
The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimising, and improving manufacturing and production processes to enhance efficiency, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. This role works closely with production, quality, maintenance, and operations teams to ensure smooth process flow and continuous improvement.
Key Activities
Lead and promote a positive work culture through the Company Values of Safety, Integrity, Quality, Teamwork, and Accountability.
Recognises production changes that enhance process efficiency and quality while lowering costs.
Provides input and direction on key projects assigned to ensure safe and sanitary working conditions which meet all company and regulatory agency policies.
Coordinates maintenance and capital projects with the Maintenance Superintendent and Engineers to ensure profitable operations.
Provides technical resources and reviews wastewater management to ensure effective and efficient procedures and processes are implemented and/or followed to achieve minimal wastewater generation during the processing season.
Provides resources and information to design systems that develop management and union personnel through training to improve skills and factory performance.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of the sugar processing industry is preferred.
Project management experience
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
Successful completion of Engineering Trainee program OR 3 years of experience, 5 – 7 years preferred.
