About the Role

The Production Supervisor will be needed to ensure the production team can meet customer needs and achieve the highest standards related to manufacturing costs, quality, efficiency, safety, and productivity.

Key Activities

  • Directly supervises production hourly employees in manufacturing activities of an assigned production area in such a manner that approved quality products are manufactured and/or delivered on schedule and within specifications and cost requirements. 

  • Directly work group or department to ensure production and/or delivery on time. 

  • Selects and trains employees to produce at standard-and-above efficiency. 

  • Responsible for maintaining quality standards. 

  • Responsible for maintaining high employee morale and positive relationships. 

  • Responsible for teaching safe work practices, good housekeeping procedures and ensuring they are adhered to. 

  • Responsible for keeping machines and/or equipment in good repair. 

  • Recommend changes or improvements in methods, equipment, handling or layout. 

  • Responsible for accuracy of required administrative reports. 

  • Responsible for controlling absenteeism, scrap and waste. 

  • Frequent contact with office staff giving and/or receiving information 

  • Completes all other projects assigned by supervisor. 

  • Maintain qualified production staff to meet company objectives. 

  • Monitor adherence by personnel to food quality programs and procedures. 

  • Continually evaluate plant GMP and sanitation standards and programs by reviewing facility inspection reports and follow-up actions. 

  • Perform GMP inspections. 

  • Coordinate and assist as necessary with developmental projects to meet concept and time frames. 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in a plant supervisory position.

  • Demonstrated computer proficiency: Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred).

  • 3–5+ years of experience in food manufacturing or food processing operations.

  • Experience supervising production teams in a food processing environment.
