


About the Role
The Production Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting production equipment in a fish processing and manufacturing facility. This includes performing preventative maintenance to ensure minimal downtime and supporting production operations to meet safety, quality, and efficiency goals.
Key Activities
The Production Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting production equipment in a fish processing and manufacturing facility. This includes performing preventive maintenance to minimise downtime and supporting production operations to meet safety, quality, and efficiency goals.
Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance on processing and packaging machinery (e.g., conveyors, slicers, vacuum packers, scales, pumps, chillers).
Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Maintain sanitation standards by supporting clean-in-place (CIP) and disassembly/reassembly processes.
Assist with equipment installation, relocation, or upgrades.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, GMP, HACCP, and company safety policies.
Collaborate with production staff to identify potential equipment issues.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Plant Manager.
Preferred Skills
Able to work in cold, wet, and fast-paced environments.
Basic computer skills for work orders and inventory systems.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school certification preferred.
2+ years of experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment, preferably in seafood or protein-related.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
