About the Role

This Plant Manager will ensure efficient production, compliance with food safety regulations, quality standards, and cost control while maintaining a safe working environment. The Plant Manager leads production teams, manages plant performance, and drives continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

Key Activities

  • Oversee daily plant operations including production, processing, packaging, and distribution.

  • Ensure production targets, efficiency, and yield goals are achieved.

  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity and reduce costs.

  • Monitor plant performance metrics such as throughput, downtime, waste, and labor efficiency

  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards such as HACCP, USDA, FDA, GMP, and SSOP.

  • Maintain strict sanitation and hygiene practices throughout the facility.

  • Prepare for and manage internal and external food safety audits and inspections.

  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and processing of meat products.

  • Lead, coach, and develop plant supervisors and department managers.

  • Manage staffing, training, performance management, and employee engagement.

  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen initiatives to improve plant efficiency.

  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives where applicable.Manage plant budget, labor costs, and operational expenses.

  • Analyze production costs and implement cost-saving initiatives.

  • Optimize resource utilization and reduce waste.

Preferred Skills

  • Background in large-scale food production facilities

  • Knowledge of automation and modern processing technologies

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Meat Science, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.

  • 8–15+ years of experience in food manufacturing.

  • Must have experience working in the fishing industry.
