

About the Role
This Plant Manager will ensure efficient production, compliance with food safety regulations, quality standards, and cost control while maintaining a safe working environment. The Plant Manager leads production teams, manages plant performance, and drives continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
Key Activities
Oversee daily plant operations including production, processing, packaging, and distribution.
Ensure production targets, efficiency, and yield goals are achieved.
Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity and reduce costs.
Monitor plant performance metrics such as throughput, downtime, waste, and labor efficiency
Ensure compliance with food safety standards such as HACCP, USDA, FDA, GMP, and SSOP.
Maintain strict sanitation and hygiene practices throughout the facility.
Prepare for and manage internal and external food safety audits and inspections.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and processing of meat products.
Lead, coach, and develop plant supervisors and department managers.
Manage staffing, training, performance management, and employee engagement.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen initiatives to improve plant efficiency.
Drive process improvements and automation initiatives where applicable.Manage plant budget, labor costs, and operational expenses.
Analyze production costs and implement cost-saving initiatives.
Optimize resource utilization and reduce waste.
Preferred Skills
Background in large-scale food production facilities
Knowledge of automation and modern processing technologies
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Meat Science, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
8–15+ years of experience in food manufacturing.
Must have experience working in the fishing industry.
