About the Role

The Quality Assurance Manager will ensure consistent food safety and production quality by developing and enforcing Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), HACCP, and other applicable food safety systems.

Key Activities

  • Ensure food safety and quality guidelines are followed by all team members

  • Train, orient, and monitor Quality Assurance employees as to product safety and quality

  • Plan, assign, schedule, and adjust the QC staff accordingly

  • Train, orient, and monitor Sanitation personnel and operations of the facility and grounds through management of Pest Control and Waste Management Programs/Vendors

  • Monitor and verify that all products entering and exiting the facility meet food safety and quality standards

  • Meet quality assurance operational goals by developing and executing action plans, performing facility inspections, managing third-party audits, identifying system enhancements, and implementing changes. Inform Senior Management about any quality control and food safety concerns, and offer feasible solutions.

  • Develop and maintain procedures that assure product and service quality, including ingredient and packaging control, product testing and clearance, product disposition system and rework control, Hold and Release Program, HACCP, weight control, and other manufacturing procedures

  • Validate quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures. Provide technical support and direction to the plant to address process improvements and customer complaints. Corrective Actions.

  • Develop high-quality documentation and reports by gathering, examining, and summarising data and trends, such as failed processes, stability studies, recalls, and re-validations.

  • Update job knowledge by: studying trends in and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; participating in professional organisations, etc.

  • Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Preferred Skills

  • Have the ability to make sound, educated decisions in a timely manner.

  • Emphasize excellence, and demonstrate attention to detail and thoroughness.

  • Bilingual communication (verbal & written) is a plus but not required.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or related field (Preferred).

  • 3-5 years of experience within a Quality Role (Required).

  • 3-5 years of experience with Sanitation.
