About the Role
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and machinery within the facility. This role ensures that production equipment operates efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime.
Key Activities
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment, including mixers, conveyors, boilers, and packaging machines.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues to minimise downtime.
Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to ensure accurate assembly, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
Adjust and calibrate equipment to ensure consistent product quality.
Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, including HACCP and GMP.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and parts usage.
Collaborate with production teams to address equipment-related challenges.
Assist in the installation, relocation, or upgrading of equipment as needed.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with food-grade equipment and sanitary maintenance practices.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and hand tools.
Education and Experience
Experience in Industrial mechanic experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification in welding or electrical work is a bonus.
