About the Role

The Parts Manager will provide support for all maintenance-related needs and work alongside the maintenance manager/technicians and engineering on process improvements.

Key Activities

  • Performance of duties assigned with focus on safety, quality (of product and task) and Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Hire, train, motivate, and supervise department staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment.

  • Forecasting daily parts usage, ordering appropriate parts and equipment.

  • Track daily use of parts and orders.

  • Work with maintenance to identify parts that are removed due to equipment changes or equipment being removed.

  • Ensuring purchase orders are created in accordance with company policy.

  • Monitor parts availability and usage in coordination with production planning to support just-in-time (JIT) inventory practices.

  • Analyse inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.

  • Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.

  • Conduct Daily/Weekly/Monthly Cycle Counts and quarterly full inventory counts.

  • Control inventory by making sure that parts are being signed out and received in the system.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised work area that aligns with company policies and safety standards.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of hardware such as pneumatic fittings, O-rings, seals, nuts and bolts, lubricants, etc.

  • Work closely with OEM’s and parts vendors to make sure parts are ordered and received on time.

Education and Experience

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • 3-5 years of parts room experience.

  • Good working knowledge of both electrical and mechanical parts.
