About the Role

The Procurement Specialist will manage inventory levels, coordinate purchasing activities, and optimize the procurement process to support production requirements. The role will work closely with suppliers, production teams, and warehouse staff to maintain optimal stock levels, quality standards, manage costs, and satisfy production schedules and demand forecasts.

Key Activities

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock for production demands and prevent shortages or overstocking.

  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing, high-quality, and delivery terms.

  • Ensure cost-effective and timely purchasing while maintaining quality standards and supplier relationships.

  • Monitor market trends to identify changes in supply availability and pricing that could affect purchasing decisions.

  • Coordinate with quality assurance teams to ensure that all purchased goods meet regulatory and company standards

  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventory audits, reconciling discrepancies as necessary, and maintain accurate records.

  • Work closely with warehouse staff to oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of inventory levels, purchase orders, and supplier agreements.

  • Generate reports on inventory turnover, purchasing performance, and cost analysis for management review.

  • Ensures adherence to all company policies and procedures.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in manufacturing, food production, logistics, or industrial environments.

  • CPSM, CPIM, or other procurement certifications preferred.

Education and Experience

  • High School or equivalent work experience.

  • 2 – 5 yrs of related work experience.

  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management in the food manufacturing industry.
