


About the Role
The Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls. This position requires a hands-on accounting leader with strong manufacturing finance experience and exposure to cross-border operations.
Key Activities
Oversee daily accounting operations, including.
General ledger management.
Accounts payable and receivable.
Payroll coordination.
Inventory accounting.
Fixed assets.
Cash management
Revenue recognition.
Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements.
Support foreign currency conversion and financial statement consolidation activities.
Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and clearing account management.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting.
Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
Develop, monitor, and oversee standard operating procedures.
Ensure compliance with.
Canadian and U.S. GAAP.
HST and U.S. sales/use tax requirements.
Corporate tax and regulatory reporting.
Payroll remittance and reporting obligations.
Coordinate annual reviews and liaise with external auditors, banks, insurance providers, and advisors.
Assist with insurance renewals, benefits administration, and financing arrangements.
Support ERP enhancements and financial process optimization initiatives.
Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members.
Manage projects with strong attention to organization, follow-up, and documentation.
Preferred Skills
Experience supporting Canadian and U.S. financial operations is considered a strong asset.
ERP experience required; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
Education and Experience
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
CPA designation completed or in progress preferred.
Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
