About the Role

The Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls. This position requires a hands-on accounting leader with strong manufacturing finance experience and exposure to cross-border operations.

Key Activities

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including.

  • General ledger management.

  • Accounts payable and receivable.

  • Payroll coordination.

  • Inventory accounting.

  • Fixed assets.

  • Cash management

  • Revenue recognition.

  • Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements.

  • Support foreign currency conversion and financial statement consolidation activities.

  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and clearing account management.

  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and management reporting.

  • Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.

  • Develop, monitor, and oversee standard operating procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with.

  • Canadian and U.S. GAAP.

  • HST and U.S. sales/use tax requirements.

  • Corporate tax and regulatory reporting.

  • Payroll remittance and reporting obligations.

  • Coordinate annual reviews and liaise with external auditors, banks, insurance providers, and advisors.

  • Assist with insurance renewals, benefits administration, and financing arrangements.

  • Support ERP enhancements and financial process optimization initiatives.

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members.

  • Manage projects with strong attention to organization, follow-up, and documentation.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting Canadian and U.S. financial operations is considered a strong asset.

  • ERP experience required; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

  • CPA designation completed or in progress preferred.

  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
