


About the Role
The Inventory Control Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management within a fast-paced seafood manufacturing, distribution, and logistics environment. This role ensures product accuracy, freshness, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency across cold storage, processing, and distribution facilities.
Key Activities
Oversee daily cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation of seafood products across all storage locations, including fresh, frozen, and live product areas.
Ensure precise inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and ERP platforms, providing real-time visibility of stock levels.
Monitor FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) protocols to minimize spoilage and ensure product freshness compliance.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, variances, and shrinkage issues on time.
Coordinate with the Quality Assurance team to quarantine, document, and disposition non-conforming, rejected, or recalled products.
Supervise inventory control within refrigerated (0°F to 34°F) and frozen (-10°F and below) storage environments in compliance with HACCP and FDA food safety regulations.
Monitor and document temperature logs and cold chain integrity for all seafood inventory, escalating deviations immediately.
Coordinate product flow from receiving docks through processing to outbound distribution, minimizing dwell times for perishable items.
Ensure proper labeling, lot traceability, and country-of-origin documentation for all product categories.
Supervise, schedule, and develop a team of inventory associates.
Conduct performance evaluations, coaching sessions, and progressive discipline in accordance with company policies.
Train staff on inventory procedures, safety protocols, WMS operations, and seafood handling best practices.
Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the inventory team.
Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, HACCP, and state/local regulatory requirements governing seafood storage, handling, and traceability.
Prepare and present weekly and monthly inventory reports, including variance analysis, turnover rates, and aging product summaries.
Support internal audits and regulatory inspections; this facility holds SQF (Safe Quality Food) certification and undergoes regular SQF audits — active participation in audit readiness and continuous improvement is required.
Maintain documentation in accordance with FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) traceability rules.
Preferred Skills
Experience in seafood, perishable food, or cold chain environments strongly preferred.
Hands-on experience with WMS platforms and ERP systems.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Food Science, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
Minimum 3–5 years of inventory control or warehouse management experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
