


About the Role
The Sales Representative is responsible for driving profitable growth across assigned territories by identifying, developing, and retaining business within the flexible packaging sector. This role requires a balanced focus on new business development, strategic account management, and long-term customer engagement.
Key Activities
Develop strategic sales plans that identify, prioritize, and capture new business opportunities.
Build a healthy pipeline through disciplined prospecting, including cold calls, targeted outreach, and industry networking.
Re-engage lost or inactive accounts and evaluate upsell potential within existing accounts.
Conduct customer meetings, on-site visits, and tailored product demonstrations that reflect deep understanding of packaging needs.
Deliver clear, consultative sales presentations that support decision-making and highlight value propositions.
Provide timely responses to customer inquiries and maintain service levels consistent with company expectations.
Prepare and negotiate proposals, pricing, and agreements while balancing customer requirements, cost considerations, and company standards.
Lead contract discussions with mid-sized to enterprise-level clients, including Fortune 500 organizations when applicable.
Partner with Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, and Corporate HR/Safety leads as needed to support customer expectations and ensure alignment with organizational priorities.
Contribute market intelligence to support product development, pricing reviews, and competitive strategy.
Maintain working knowledge of flexible packaging, printing, materials, manufacturing constraints, and emerging technologies.
Monitor competitive activity and share insights that inform business planning.
Update CRM systems (Syspro or equivalent) to maintain accurate activity logs, forecasts, and customer records.
Optimize travel routes and schedules to balance productivity, cost efficiency, and customer needs.
Follow company safety and travel standards at all times.
Preferred Skills
Strong business development and prospecting skills.
CRM proficiency (Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Packaging, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
3+ years of B2B sales experience.
