


About the Role
The Flexographic Press Operator will be responsible for supporting flexographic printing operations by assisting with press setup, material preparation, print quality monitoring, cleanup activities, and routine press support tasks.
Key Activities
Assist with flexographic press setup, operation, and cleanup activities.
Support loading and unloading of materials, including film, plates, sleeves, and inks.
Assist with mounting plates and preparing cylinders according to job specifications.
Monitor print quality and identify common printing defects.
Learn flexographic printing terminology, processes, and equipment operation.
Support press operation at speeds of approximately 100–200 feet per minute while maintaining quality standards.
Learn fundamentals of one to three-color printing processes and color matching techniques.
Assist with press changeovers, including cleaning anilox rolls, ink pans, and related equipment.
Pull and stage inks and materials for production orders.
Verify artwork, work orders, and Pantone Matching System (PMS) color requirements.
Learn proper splicing techniques to support continuous production runs.
Conduct tape adhesion tests and support quality verification activities.
Make minor press adjustments under the guidance of Operators II and III.
Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance activities on press equipment.
Assist with locating, organizing, storing, and maintaining printing plates and materials.
Monitor material waste and support waste reduction efforts.
Maintain accurate production and operational records as assigned.
Support organizational objectives related to Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, and Engagement.
Maintain clean and organized work areas, including housekeeping responsibilities within the production environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience with labels, flexible packaging, corrugated packaging, folding cartons, or commercial printing.
Familiarity with UV, water-based, and solvent-based ink systems.
Experience with presses such as Mark Andy, Nilpeter, Comexi, Bobst, W&H, Omet, or Gallus.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Technical training in printing technology preferred.
2+ years of experience operating flexographic printing presses.
