


About the Role
The Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and effective dispensing of medications while providing exceptional patient care. This role involves reviewing prescriptions, counseling patients, collaborating with healthcare providers, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing pharmacy operations to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Activities
Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions.
Dispense prescription medications in compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
Counsel patients on medication usage, dosage, side effects, storage, and potential interactions.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize medication therapy.
Monitor patient medication regimens and provide recommendations for improved therapeutic outcomes.
Administer immunizations and other clinical services as permitted by state regulations.
Supervise and train pharmacy technicians, interns, and support staff.
Maintain accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, DEA, FDA, and state pharmacy regulations.
Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, storage, and control of medications.
Participate in quality assurance, medication safety, and regulatory audits.
Provide exceptional customer service and resolve medication-related inquiries.
Preferred Skills
Experience in retail, hospital, ambulatory care, specialty, or long-term care pharmacy settings.
Experience administering immunizations and clinical pharmacy services.
Board certification or specialty pharmacy experience is a plus.
Education and Experience
Active Pharmacist license in good standing within the applicable state.
Knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred for certain healthcare settings.
