About the Role

The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and management of medications while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellent customer service. This role assists with prescription processing, inventory management, insurance verification, and maintaining pharmacy records in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Key Activities

  • Receive and process prescription orders from patients and healthcare providers.

  • Prepare, package, label, and dispense medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.

  • Verify patient information and maintain accurate pharmacy records.

  • Process insurance claims and resolve billing issues.

  • Manage medication inventory, including ordering, stocking, and monitoring expiration dates.

  • Assist customers with prescription pickups and general pharmacy inquiries.

  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, state pharmacy regulations, and company policies.

  • Handle controlled substances according to regulatory requirements.

  • Support medication reconciliation and documentation activities.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.

  • Assist pharmacists with administrative and operational tasks as needed.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1–3 years of pharmacy experience preferred.

  • Compounding experience must.
