About the Role
The Lead Printing Technician oversees printing operations, ensuring production efficiency and print quality, troubleshooting equipment, and leading printing operators.
Key Activities
Set up, operate, and monitor printing equipment to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
Review production schedules and prioritize jobs to meet customer deadlines.
Verify materials, inks, plates, and specifications before production runs.
Ensure compliance with all print quality, color, and registration standards.
Minimize downtime through effective troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
Lead, train, and mentor printing operators and production staff.
Assign daily tasks and monitor employee performance.
Promote a safe, productive, and positive work environment.
Assist with onboarding and training of new team members.
Provide technical guidance and support during production challenges.
Conduct quality inspections throughout production runs.
Monitor color consistency, print registration, and product specifications.
Investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Maintain production and quality records as required.
Perform routine maintenance and equipment adjustments.
Coordinate major repairs with maintenance personnel or vendors.
Maintain proper inventory of inks, plates, and printing supplies.
Ensure equipment is operated according to manufacturer guidelines.

Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred.
3–7+ years of printing industry experience, with leadership experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of flexographic, offset, digital, gravure, or screen printing processes.
