About the Role
The Mechanic will have experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial production equipment in a bakery, food manufacturing, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment. This role is responsible for ensuring maximum equipment uptime, safety, and operational efficiency.
Key Activities
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on bakery production equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.
Maintain mixers, ovens, proofers, conveyors, packaging equipment, slicers, and related production machinery.
Diagnose equipment failures and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime.
Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and equipment drawings.
Perform equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades as needed.
Ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, HACCP, and OSHA standards.
Complete maintenance documentation, work orders, and maintenance logs accurately.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and productivity.
Collaborate with production personnel to resolve equipment-related issues.
Preferred Skills
Bakery manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
Experience maintaining commercial baking equipment, including ovens, mixers, proofers, and packaging lines.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitary maintenance practices.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required; Technical Degree or Trade Certification preferred.
3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in bakery, food processing, or manufacturing environments preferred.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
