About the Role

The Mechanic will have experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial production equipment in a bakery, food manufacturing, or consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment. This role is responsible for ensuring maximum equipment uptime, safety, and operational efficiency.

Key Activities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on bakery production equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.

  • Maintain mixers, ovens, proofers, conveyors, packaging equipment, slicers, and related production machinery.

  • Diagnose equipment failures and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime.

  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and equipment drawings.

  • Perform equipment installations, modifications, and upgrades as needed.

  • Ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, HACCP, and OSHA standards.

  • Complete maintenance documentation, work orders, and maintenance logs accurately.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and productivity.

  • Collaborate with production personnel to resolve equipment-related issues.

Preferred Skills

  • Bakery manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience maintaining commercial baking equipment, including ovens, mixers, proofers, and packaging lines.

  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitary maintenance practices.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Technical Degree or Trade Certification preferred.

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience in bakery, food processing, or manufacturing environments preferred.

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
