


About the Role
The Plant Manager will oversee daily operations of the manufacturing, facilities, and maintenance departments. The Plant Manager’s main function is to ensure efficient and timely production of print operations and oversee the facility and maintenance of the building, equipment, and grounds.
Key Activities
Hire, train, guide and develop staff within direct supervision. Create and hold staff accountable for performance objectives.
Provide positive and effective coaching and leadership to staff.
Develop and implement personnel growth opportunities and resolve employee issues through problem resolution or performance improvement plans.
Develop and maintain training programs to ensure all personnel have the necessary skills to perform their duties safely and productively.
Initiate, educate, coordinate and enforce SOPs; monitor and enforce safety and workplace policies and procedures.
Monitor budgets and communicate progress to Management.
Attend and participate in meetings.
Provide feedback to management concerning production capacity, staffing skillset and equipment needs.
Accomplish production goals by communicating clear job expectations; plan, monitor, coach, counsel and evaluate performance and results within direct supervision.
Proactively communicate and collaborate with Production Leads to ensure staff produce product to quality standards; make judgment calls to continue or stop production based on quality of decoration.
Collaborate with Production Leads on daily production activities, delegate assignments and maintain material/workflow throughout production staff.
Manage workflow of orders that have encountered issues upon release to production, ensuring orders experiencing quality, inventory or art issues are not delayed and are properly communicated to relevant staff.
Continuously evaluate and modify the plant layout and material workflow for increased throughput and productivity and make recommendations to management.
Monitor and enforce work start, break and stop times.
Direct facility maintenance projects and communications with vendors.
Maintain and enhance maintenance programs, parts inventories and repair projects.
Maintain a clean and well-organized maintenance shop.
Manage program for the purchase, security and use of tools and maintenance supplies.
Review bids for facility projects with Management before implementation.
Respond timely to emergency situations.
Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.
Preferred Skills
Efficiently and effectively lead a team of employees and achieve high standards of performance.
Knowledge of screen-print operations preferred.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required. Additional education or technical training a plus.
Three (3) to five (5) years of management experience in a production facility.
