


About the Role
The Senior Account Executive will be responsible for identifying customer needs, navigating customer specifications and requirements, developing solutions with staff and qualified vendors, providing accurate specifications and pricing, closing the sale, and overseeing the production and fulfillment process.
Key Activities
Develop annual sales goals, budget, and strategy in conjunction with EVP that is approved by the Board.
Build and sustain a healthy pipeline through prospecting, in-person client visits, industry event participation and marketing engagements.
Effectively prospect new qualified opportunities and effectively present capabilities and services in a compelling manner to secure client interest.
Effectively maintain relationships and grow any assigned accounts through re-order negotiations and through identification of new opportunities.
Effectively communicate with prospects on functional and technical requirements of their packaging program and supply chain needs.
Effectively identify client's needs and build solutions that meet their requirements.
Develop effective solutions with staff members and qualified approved vendors.
Manage internal communication with staff to create a compelling client proposal that is acceptable to management guidelines.
Coordinate work processes with staff, art department, logistics, vendors and management.
Provide customers with detailed specifications and accurate quotations.
Effectively close profitable orders based on margin goals and sales strategy.
Provide ongoing account support to ensure customer satisfaction including accurate report generation, overseeing re-order requirements, etc.
Maintain accurate, timely and up-to-date customer correspondence.
Maintain healthy, supportive and positive relationships with vendors by providing accurate, timely communication throughout the project and afterward.
Maintain sales pipeline information in company designated CRM platforms and other systems to facilitate team efficiency and coordination.
Participate in setting quality control standards and participate in press checks when required.
Participate in dispute resolution between staff, client and vendor as necessary.
Work with Accounting and customers on escalated A/R issues and any other billing related matters.
Find other opportunities within accounts to create additional revenue streams by sustaining strong interpersonal relationships with clients and their fellow staff members.
Visit key accounts in person as required by Sales Management guidelines to nurture an open relationship and demonstrate interest and support of their company's needs.
Apply a thorough understanding of business practices, industry trends, and the competitive landscape to carry out relevant and repeatable sales processes.
Advise clients and/or vendors on improvements to include in forthcoming product developments to respond to changes in market conditions or client needs
Participate in sales meetings, vendor meetings, project meetings and any other CRP-related events that are required for business growth, industry education and continuity
Be proactive in learning and staying current on target customer business sectors, new products/materials, and industry trends.
Preferred Skills
Excellent verbal and written presentation skills.
Strong client and vendor relationships.
Education and Experience
Minimum 5 years of successful packaging sales experience and proven track record of opening and sustaining accounts for over 3 years.
Successful track record and ability to provide packaging industry knowledge to clients in target markets with consistency and positive outcomes.
BA or BS degree preferred.
