


About the Role
The Director of Maintenance will drive world-class preventive and predictive maintenance programs, improve equipment reliability, lead capital projects, develop maintenance talent, and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Activities
Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance (PM/PdM) programs.
Lead all corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
Establish Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes to eliminate recurring equipment failures.
Provide technical expertise for bakery processing and packaging equipment.
Lead troubleshooting of PLCs, automation controls, drives, sensors, and electrical systems.
Manage capital improvement projects, facility upgrades, and equipment installations.
Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, contractors, and vendors throughout project execution.
Support equipment commissioning, startup, validation, and performance optimization.
Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Lead and mentor maintenance managers, supervisors, planners, and technicians.
Build a high-performance maintenance organization through coaching, accountability, and continuous learning.
Promote strong collaboration with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Sanitation teams.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, food safety standards, GMPs, and machine safety requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and predictive maintenance technologies.
Maintain CMMS integrity for work orders, asset history, PM scheduling, and spare parts inventory.
Manage maintenance budgets, vendor performance, and inventory optimization.
Preferred Skills
Bakery manufacturing experience.
Experience with automated packaging and robotic production systems.
Knowledge of CMMS platforms (SAP PM, Maximo, MP2, Maintenance Connection, etc.).
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
10–15+ years of maintenance experience within food manufacturing, bakery, pharmaceutical, or industrial manufacturing.
Minimum 5–7 years of progressive maintenance leadership experience.
Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance systems, automation, PLCs, robotics, and facility utilities.
Experience leading preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
