


About the Role
The Production Supervisor directs daily grinding operations, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and compliance while leading teams and coordinating workflow and equipment reliability.
Key Activities
Lead and support a team of production employees during the assigned shift.
Coordinate daily production schedules to meet customer demand and operational objectives.
Ensure products are manufactured according to specifications, quality standards, and food safety requirements.
Monitor department performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, and waste reduction.
Work closely with maintenance to address equipment issues and minimize downtime.
Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and support preventive maintenance efforts when appropriate.
Verify ingredient usage, product formulations, and process consistency.
Maintain accurate production records and required regulatory documentation.
Manage raw material usage, inventory accuracy, and product rotation.
Coach employees through training, performance management, and ongoing development.
Participate in hiring, employee evaluations, corrective actions, and succession planning.
Promote a culture centered on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with USDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP principles, sanitation requirements, and company policies.
Preferred Skills
Experience supervising grinding, blending, mixing, or further-processing operations.
Familiarity with automated food processing equipment.
Experience working alongside USDA inspectors or within federally inspected facilities.
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives is beneficial.
Education and Experience
Previous experience supervising manufacturing or food production teams.
Experience within meat, poultry, protein, seafood, or other USDA-regulated food manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot production equipment.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
